Prior to joining Qualcomm in 2021, Falan was director of industry statistics and economic policy at the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) for 9 years. Responsible for managing SIA\u2019s statistics and data program, Falan represented SIA in the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) program, which maintains industry-driven monthly sales data for the global industry as well as sales forecasts. His work also entailed supporting SIA\u2019s advocacy efforts through economic research and analysis. In pursuit of this goal, he worked closely with SIA staff and member companies, federal statistical agencies, domestic and international companies and business associations, international organizations, foreign government officials, and the academic and think tank community.  Previous to his work at SIA, Falan worked for the U.S. International Trade Commission as its semiconductor and semiconductor manufacturing equipment analyst for 9 years. Falan began his career with the federal government as a Presidential Management Fellow where he also worked at the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. He has a B.A. in history from Carleton College, and a master\u2019s in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.  He lived in Honduras as a Peace Corps volunteer for 2.5 years and speaks Spanish.  Falan enjoys traveling, sports, reading, and music."}
