Melissa Carl joined IEEE-USA in 2023 as Director of Business Development, Career & Member Services.

Prior to joining IEEE-USA, Melissa had a 20-year career with ASME, where she held a variety of positions, including senior roles in ASME's Government Relations Department, Project Manager for over $5 million in government grants, and organizer for dozens of conferences, meetings, symposiums, and other events on behalf of the mechanical engineers. She also served as the Washington Representative for the Society of Women Engineers for nine years where she built SWE into a nationally recognized leader in STEM policy.

Melissa has a Bachelors in Biology, with a minor in Russian, from the University of Texas, Austin and a Masters in Public Administration from George Mason University.
